3. Astro Coffee

2124 Michigan Avenue / Detroit, MI 48216
(313)-638-2989

With 276 reviewers and a 4.5-star rating, Astro Coffee is definitely one of the top coffee shops in the city. Located outside of downtown in the industrial Cork Town area of Detroit, Astro Coffee is a high-energy coffee shop with a busy, welcoming atmosphere and an amazing collection of artwork and sketches all over its walls. Many reviewers say Astro has the best tasting coffee in Detroit, including Travis W. who writes: “This is without question the very best tasting coffee you will find in Detroit, and possibly throughout country.  The owner came over to the states from Europe and has a fascinating life story. The artwork doesn’t stop with their coffee, it sprawls across the walls and into the sound waves. It draws a quality crowd of people and embodies a presence that brings calm and clarity unlike most coffee shops. It’s hard to put your finger on why the atmosphere is so tranquil. Could it be the view of the old train station, the kindness of the staff, the big wall of windows, or just everything together.”
